Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is a self-teaching and self-learning aid of the Qur’an based on modern media platforms. It encompasses all essential aspects of Qur’anic knowledge which is obligated to every Muslim. Its usage also extends to the conventional Qur’an schools as an aid to more efficient and richer learning experience. reducing learning cycle, increasing teaching capacity, and enhancing pupils’ knowledge of the Qur’an from just being learning to recite and memorize the Qur’an to understanding the recitation (tajweed) rules, meanings of the Qur’an, and the language of the Qur’an.

Development plan

The website www.mualim-alquran.com is the first stage of the development of Mu’alim Al-Qur’an. This first stage is a web-based solution that is accessible online for free through any internet appliance like a PC/Laptop (Mac or Windows), tablets (Apple or Android) and mobile phones (iPhone or Android). In all the appliances, the screen of this web-based Mu’alim Al-Qur’an adjusts perfectly and automatically to suit the appliance’s resolution.

In the second stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a downloadable mobile application on both iPhone and Android platforms. This mobile app will be accessible offline and will enable users to access all the functionalities and content of the Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need to be online through WiFi or mobile data connectivity.

In the third stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a built-in app in a dedicated branded tablet with all its functionalities and content, thus enabling its accessibility without the need of internet connectivity. Furthermore, the tablet will be equipped with a solar charger which will allow users to access Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need of external electricity supply.

Target Audience

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is primarily intended for non-Arabic speaking Muslims who speak any of the following languages. Swahili, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The application is equally useful in self-teaching and self-learning of the Qur’an for any speakers of these languages.

Scope

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an includes the following six learning modules: (1) Foundation of Arabic alphabets, letters, and words based on standard Qaida Al-Noorania. (2) Recitation of the Qur’an word-by-word and verse-by-verse. (3) Rules of Tajweed in recitation. (4) Memorization of the Qur’an based on the standard memorization methodology of repetition and tracking progress. (5) The meaning of the Qur’an through translations. and (6) Arabic as the language of the Qur’an.

User’s Engagement

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an allows users to access the application for free through the browsers or mobile application in phones or tablets. The users have a choice to use the application anonymously without tracking their progress or by logging in with an email address and a password to keep track of their progress within a particular stage or between stages. Qur'an contains 2,000 ma-related words, with frequent and important ones mentioned.

  1. Standard usage: ma before perfect verb negates madi.
مَا لَبِثَ
he did not tarry
مَا ظَلَمُونَا
they did not wrong us
مَا مَنَعَنَا
he did not prevent us
  1. ma negates nominal sentences in Qur'an, more frequently than later Arabic, using bi- with genitive.
مَا هُوَ بِمَيّتٍ
he is not dead
مَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ
your companion is not possessed
Negative ma followed by illa 'except' indicates only, combining ma and illa
مَا أَنْتُمْ إَلَّا بَشَرٌ

Negative ma is sometimes followed by a partitive phrase with min.

مَا عَلِمْنَا عَلِيْهِ مِنْ سُوءٍ

ma is a relative pronoun, meaning "that which" or "whatsoever."
عَلِمْتُمْ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ

مَا فِي اَلسَّموَاتِ وَاَلْأَرْضِ

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Mfano wa vile wanavyo vitoa katika uhai wao wa duniani ni kama upepo ambao ndani yake ipo baridi ya barafu, ukalisibu shamba la watu walio dhulumu nafsi zao, ukaliteketeza. Na Mwenyezi Mungu hakuwadhulumu, bali wao wenyewe wanadhulumu nafsi zao.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ أَوْ جَآءُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَن يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ أَوْ يُقَـٰتِلُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَـٰتَلُوكُمْ ۚ فَإِنِ ٱعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَبِيلًا
Isipokuwa wale walio fungamana na watu ambao mna ahadi baina yenu na wao, au wanakujieni na vifua vyao vina dhiki kupigana nanyi, au kupigana na watu wao. Na lau angeli penda Mwenyezi Mungu angeli wasaliti juu yenu wakapigana nanyi. Basi wakijitenga nanyi, wasipigane nanyi, na wakakuleteeni amani, basi Mwenyezi Mungu hakukupeni njia kupigana nao.
وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ
Na hilo kwa Mwenyezi Mungu si jambo gumu.
إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ ۚ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۚ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِى قَالُوٓا۟ ءَاذَنَّـٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ
UJUZI wa kuijua Saa ya Kiyama unarudishwa kwake tu Mwenyezi Mungu. Na matunda hayatoki katika mafumba yake, wala mwanamke hachukui mimba, wala hazai, ila kwa kujua kwake. Na siku atakayo waita, akawaambia: Wako wapi washirika wangu? Hapo watasema: Tunakiri kwako ya kwamba hapana miongoni mwetu anaye shuhudia hayo.
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
Ama wale walio kufuru, nitawaadhibu adhabu kali katika dunia na Akhera, wala hawatapata wa kuwanusuru.
وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ ٱخْرُجُوا۟ مِن دِيَـٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا۟ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا
Na lau kuwa tumewaamrisha: Jiueni, au tokeni majumbani kwenu, wasingeli fanya hayo ila wachache tu miongoni mwao. Na lau kama wangeli fanya walio waidhiwa ingeli kuwa bora kwao na uthibitisho wa nguvu zaidi.
فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِۦٓ إِلَّا دَآبَّةُ ٱلْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُۥ ۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ ٱلْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
Na tulipo mhukumia kufa, hapana aliye wajuulisha kufa kwake ila mnyama wa ardhi aliye kula fimbo yake. Na alipo anguka majini walitambua lau kuwa wangeli jua ya ghaibu wasingeli kaa katika adhabu hiyo ya kufedhehesha.
قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
Sema: Ujira nilio kuombeni ni wenu nyinyi. Sina ujira ila kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Yeye ni Shahidi juu ya kila kitu.
وَلَمَنِ ٱنتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ
Na wanao jitetea baada ya kudhulumiwa, hao hapana njia ya kuwalaumu.
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدْرِى مَا يُفْعَلُ بِى وَلَا بِكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Sema: Mimi si kiroja miongoni mwa Mitume. Wala sijui nitakavyo fanywa wala nyinyi. Mimi nafuata niliyo funuliwa tu kwa Wahyi, wala mimi si chochote ila ni mwonyaji mwenye kudhihirisha wazi.
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا
Nao hawana ujuzi wowote kwa hayo isipo kuwa wanafuata dhana tu. Na dhana haisaidii chochote mbele ya haki.
ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْإِنجِيلَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً ٱبْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَـٰهَا عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ رِضْوَٰنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ فَـَٔاتَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَـٰسِقُونَ
Tena tukafuatisha nyuma yao Mitume wengine, na tukamfuatisha Isa bin Mariamu, na tukampa Injili. Na tukajaalia katika nyoyo za walio mfuata upole na rehema. Na umonaki (utawa wa mapadri) wameuzua wao. Sisi hatukuwaandikia hayo, ila kutafuta radhi za Mwenyezi Mungu. Lakini hawakuufuata inavyo takiwa kuufuata. Basi wale walio amini katika wao tuliwapa ujira wao. Na wengi wao ni wapotovu.
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
Je! Sisi hatutakufa,
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ۖ قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Na watu wa Peponi watawanadia watu wa Motoni: Sisi tumekuta aliyo tuahidi Mola wetu Mlezi kuwa ni kweli. Je, na nyinyi pia mmekuta aliyo kuahidini Mola wenu Mlezi kuwa ni kweli? Watasema: Ndiyo! Basi mtangazaji atawatangazia: Laana ya Mwenyezi Mungu iwapate walio dhulumu,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٰجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم مَّتَـٰعًا إِلَى ٱلْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ ۚ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى مَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Na wale miongoni mwenu wanao kufa na wakawacha wake, na wausie kwa ajili ya wake zao kupata matumizi kwa mwaka mmoja bila ya kuwatoa nyumba. Na wanawake wenyewe wakiondoka, basi hapana ubaya kwenu kwa waliyo jifanyia wenyewe kwa mujibu wa Sharia. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye nguvu na Mwenye hikima.
لَّوْلَا كِتَـٰبٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَآ أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Lau isingeli kuwa hukumu iliyo kwisha tangulia kutoka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ingeli kupateni adhabu kubwa kwa vile mlivyo chukua.
يَوْمَ يُحْمَىٰ عَلَيْهَا فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَىٰ بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنُوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ ۖ هَـٰذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ
Siku zitapo tiwa moto katika Moto wa Jahannamu, na kwazo vikachomwa vipaji vya nyuso zao na mbavu zao na migongo yao, wakaambiwa: Haya ndiyo mlio jilimbikia nafsi zenu, basi onjeni mliyo kuwa mkilimbika.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوٓءَ ٱلْحِسَابِ
Na wale ambao huyaunga aliyo amrisha Mwenyezi Mungu yaungwe, na wanaikhofu hisabu mbaya.
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
(Nao watasema:) Wala hatuteremki ila kwa amri ya Mola wako Mlezi. Ni yake Yeye yaliyoko mbele yetu na yaliyoko nyuma yetu, na yaliyomo katikati ya hayo. Na Mola wako Mlezi si mwenye kusahau.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَٰجَكَ ٱلَّـٰتِىٓ ءَاتَيْتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ مِمَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّـٰتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَـٰلَـٰتِكَ ٱلَّـٰتِى هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ وَٱمْرَأَةً مُّؤْمِنَةً إِن وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِىِّ إِنْ أَرَادَ ٱلنَّبِىُّ أَن يَسْتَنكِحَهَا خَالِصَةً لَّكَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۗ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ لِكَيْلَا يَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
Ewe Nabii! Tumekuhalalishia wake zako ulio wapa mahari yao, na ulio wamiliki kwa mkono wako wa kulia katika alio kupa Mwenyezi Mungu, na mabinti ami zako, na mabinti wa shangazi zako, na mabinti wa wajomba zako, na mabinti wa dada za mama yako walio hama pamoja nawe; na mwanamke Muumini akijitoa mwenyewe kwa Nabii, kama mwenyewe Nabii akitaka kumwoa. Ni halali kwako wewe tu, si kwa Waumini wengine. Sisi tunajua tuliyo wafaridhia wao katika wake zao na wanawake ilio wamiliki mikono yao ya kulia. Ili isiwe dhiki kwao. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kusamehe, Mwenye kurehemu.
