Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is a self-teaching and self-learning aid of the Qur’an based on modern media platforms. It encompasses all essential aspects of Qur’anic knowledge which is obligated to every Muslim. Its usage also extends to the conventional Qur’an schools as an aid to more efficient and richer learning experience. reducing learning cycle, increasing teaching capacity, and enhancing pupils’ knowledge of the Qur’an from just being learning to recite and memorize the Qur’an to understanding the recitation (tajweed) rules, meanings of the Qur’an, and the language of the Qur’an.

Development plan

The website www.mualim-alquran.com is the first stage of the development of Mu’alim Al-Qur’an. This first stage is a web-based solution that is accessible online for free through any internet appliance like a PC/Laptop (Mac or Windows), tablets (Apple or Android) and mobile phones (iPhone or Android). In all the appliances, the screen of this web-based Mu’alim Al-Qur’an adjusts perfectly and automatically to suit the appliance’s resolution.

In the second stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a downloadable mobile application on both iPhone and Android platforms. This mobile app will be accessible offline and will enable users to access all the functionalities and content of the Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need to be online through WiFi or mobile data connectivity.

In the third stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a built-in app in a dedicated branded tablet with all its functionalities and content, thus enabling its accessibility without the need of internet connectivity. Furthermore, the tablet will be equipped with a solar charger which will allow users to access Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need of external electricity supply.

Target Audience

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is primarily intended for non-Arabic speaking Muslims who speak any of the following languages. Swahili, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The application is equally useful in self-teaching and self-learning of the Qur’an for any speakers of these languages.

Scope

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an includes the following six learning modules: (1) Foundation of Arabic alphabets, letters, and words based on standard Qaida Al-Noorania. (2) Recitation of the Qur’an word-by-word and verse-by-verse. (3) Rules of Tajweed in recitation. (4) Memorization of the Qur’an based on the standard memorization methodology of repetition and tracking progress. (5) The meaning of the Qur’an through translations. and (6) Arabic as the language of the Qur’an.

User’s Engagement

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an allows users to access the application for free through the browsers or mobile application in phones or tablets. The users have a choice to use the application anonymously without tracking their progress or by logging in with an email address and a password to keep track of their progress within a particular stage or between stages. idh and idhd are related particles from obsolete noun idh. idh signifies 'when' or 'since' in conjunctions, except compound conjunctions. Idh is a verb in the Qur'an, meaning 'when' with exceptions and examples.
إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ
when they went in to see him
إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ
when you were climbing (the hill)
إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي غَمَرَاتِ المَوْتِ
when the sinners are in death’s pangs
The Qur'an uses wa-idh to introduce narratives, translated as 'and remember' in English, supported by examples.
وَ إِذْ قَال رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ
remember when your Lord said to the angels
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ
remember when we took from the prophets their covenant
Idha has two functions:
1- Idha is a conjunction meaning 'when' or 'as often as'. Idha-ma used in early Meccan suras for conditional sentences.
إِذَا اَلسَّمَاءُ اَنْفَطَرَتْ
when the heavens are split asunder
2- Idha followed by noun or pronoun conveys 'lo' meaning.
نَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ
He withdrew his hand and, behold, it was white
فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ
behold, they look on
إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ
behold, they are vexed

Lesson 10 uses ma as relative pronoun; Lesson 17 uses man as interrogative, masculine singular.
Examples of man as singular:
مَنْ وَجَدْنَا مَتَاعَنَا عِنْدَهُ
the one in whose possession we found our goods
أَتجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا
will you place in it someone who will cause mischief in it?
اَلْبِرُّ مَنِ اتَّقَى
The pious man is the one who fears God
Examples of man as singular/plural:
مَنْ كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُ
whoever disbelieves bears the consequence of his unbelief
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَلِنَفْسِهِ
Whoever acts righteously it is to his own advantage
Examples of man as plural:
ذُرِيَّةُ مَنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ
the descendants of those whom we carried with Noah
لَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّماوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ اْلغَيْبَ
Those who are in the heavens and earth do not know the unseen
تُنْذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ
You warn those who follow the reminder
أَفَأَنْتَ تُنْقِذُ مَنْ فِي النَّارِ
Can you rescue those who are in the fire?

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
Na siku watakapo letwa makafiri Motoni wakaambiwa: Je! Haya si kweli? Watasema: Kwani? Tunaapa kwa Mola wetu Mlezi, ni kweli! Atasema: Basi onjeni adhabu kwa sababu ya kule kukataa kwenu.
فَاطِرُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ أَزْوَٰجًا ۖ يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ ۚ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ
Yeye ndiye Muumba mbingu na ardhi, amekujaalieni mke na mume katika nafsi zenu, na katika nyama hoa dume na jike, anakuzidishieni namna hii. Hapana kitu kama mfano wake. Naye ni Mwenye kusikia Mwenye kuona.
سَيَقُولُ لَكَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَآ أَمْوَٰلُنَا وَأَهْلُونَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ قُلْ فَمَن يَمْلِكُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ ضَرًّا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ نَفْعًۢا ۚ بَلْ كَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۢا
Watakuambia mabedui walio baki nyuma: Yametushughulisha mali yetu na ahali zetu, basi tuombee msamaha. Wanasema kwa ndimi zao yasiyo kuwamo katika nyoyo zao. Sema: Ni nani awezaye kukusaidieni chochote kwa Mwenyezi Mungu akitaka Yeye kukudhuruni au akitaka kukunufaisheni? Bali Mwenyezi Mungu anazo khabari za mnayo yatenda.
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ
Hawatakuwa na chakula isipo kuwa kichungu chenye miba.
قَالَ يَـٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَـٰلِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ
Akasema: Ewe Nuhu! Huyu si katika ahali zako. Mwendo wake si mwema. Basi usiniombe jambo usio na ujuzi nalo. Mimi nakuwaidhi usije ukawa miongoni mwa wajinga.
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
Na nani dhaalimu mkubwa kuliko yule anaye mzulia uwongo Mwenyezi Mungu au anaye kanusha Haki inapo mjia? Je! Si katika Jahannamu ndio yatakuwa makaazi ya makafiri?
ٱدْعُوهُمْ لِـَٔابَآئِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَمَوَٰلِيكُمْ ۚ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَآ أَخْطَأْتُم بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
Waiteni kwa baba zao, maana huo ndio uadilifu zaidi mbele ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Na ikiwa hamwajui baba zao, basi ni ndugu zenu katika Dini, na rafiki zenu. Wala si lawama juu yenu kwa mlivyo kosea. Lakini ipo lawama katika yale ziliyo fanya nyoyo zenu kwa makusudi. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kusamehe, Mwenye kurehemu.
أَوَمَن كَانَ مَيْتًا فَأَحْيَيْنَـٰهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُۥ نُورًا يَمْشِى بِهِۦ فِى ٱلنَّاسِ كَمَن مَّثَلُهُۥ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِّنْهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Je, aliye kuwa maiti kisha tukamhuisha, na tukamjaalia nuru inakwenda naye mbele za watu, mfano wake ni kama aliyoko gizani akawa hata hawezi kutoka humo? Kama hivyo makafiri wamepambiwa waliyo kuwa wakiyafanya.
وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَـٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
Na Firauni alitangaza kwa watu wake, akisema: Enyi watu wangu! Kwani mimi sinao huu ufalme wa Misri, na hii mito inapita chini yangu? Je! Hamwoni?
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
Walipo kuwa wamekaa hapo,
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجْرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Sivyo hivyo! Yeyote anaye elekeza uso wake kwa Mwenyezi Mungu naye ni mtenda mema, basi ana malipo yake kwa Mola wake Mlezi, wala haitakuwa khofu juu yao wala hawatahuzunika.
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Basi kila mmoja tulimtesa kwa mujibu wa makosa yake. Kati yao wapo tulio wapelekea kimbunga cha changarawe; na kati yao wapo walio nyakuliwa na ukelele; na kati yao wapo ambao tulio wadidimiza katika ardhi; na kati yao wapo tulio wazamisha. Wala Mwenyezi Mungu hakuwa mwenye kuwadhulumu, lakini walikuwa wenyewe wakijidhulumu nafsi zao.
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Mwenyezi Mungu ndiye aliye kuumbeni, kisha akakuruzukuni, kisha anakufisheni, na kisha anakufufueni. Je! Yupo yeyote katika hao mnao washirikisha na Mwenyezi Mungu afanyae lolote katika hayo? Yeye ametakasika, na ametukuka na hayo mnayo mshirikisha naye.
وَلِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ ۖ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُۥ عَيْنَ ٱلْقِطْرِ ۖ وَمِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ ۖ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
Na Suleiman tuliufanya upepo umtumikie. Safari yake ya asubuhi ni mwendo wa mwezi mmoja, na safari yake ya jioni ni mwendo wa mwezi mmoja. Na tukamyayushia chemchem ya shaba. Na katika majini walikuwako walio kuwa wakifanya kazi mbele yake kwa idhini ya Mola wake Mlezi. Na kila anaye jitenga na amri yetu katika wao, tunamwonjesha adhabu ya Moto unao waka.
وَمَا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَحْيَآءُ وَلَا ٱلْأَمْوَٰتُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَّن فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ
Wala hawalingani walio hai na maiti. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu humsikilizisha amtakaye. Wala wewe si wa kuwasikilizisha walio makaburini.
وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ عَـٰهَدَ ٱللَّهَ لَئِنْ ءَاتَىٰنَا مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
Na miongoni mwao wapo walio muahidi Mwenyezi Mungu kwa kusema: Akitupa katika fadhila yake hapana shaka tutatoa sadaka, na tutakuwa katika watendao mema.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَمِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعْضَهُۥ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَلَآ أُشْرِكَ بِهِۦٓ ۚ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُوا۟ وَإِلَيْهِ مَـَٔابِ
Na tulio wapa Kitabu wanafurahia uliyo teremshiwa. Na katika makundi mengine wapo wanao yakataa baadhi ya haya. Sema: Nimeamrishwa nimuabudu Mwenyezi Mungu, na wala nisimshirikishe. Kuendea kwake Yeye ndiyo ninaita, na kwake Yeye ndio marejeo yangu.
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَـٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَـٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ
Na katika watu wapo wanao bishana juu ya Mwenyezi Mungu bila ya ilimu, wala uwongofu, wala Kitabu chenye nuru.
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
Basi walipo ihisi adhabu yetu, mara wakaanza kukimbia.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
Na kwa kina Thamud tulimtuma ndugu yao Saleh kuwaambia: Muabuduni Mwenyezi Mungu. Basi wakawa makundi mawili yanayo gombana.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ تَنتَشِرُونَ
Na katika Ishara zake ni kuwa kakuumbeni kwa udongo. Kisha mmekuwa watu mlio tawanyika kote kote.
وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
Yakiwapata watu madhara humwomba Mola wao Mlezi nao wametubu kwake. Kisha akiwaonjesha rehema itokayo kwake, mara kikundi miongoni mwao humshirikisha Mola wao Mlezi,
وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَإِنِّى جَارٌ لَّكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَرَآءَتِ ٱلْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّنكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
Na pale Shet'ani alipo wapambia vitendo vyao, na akawaambia: Hapana watu wa kukushindeni hii leo, na hali mimi ni mlinzi wenu. Yalipo onana majeshi mawili, akarudi nyuma, na akasema: Mimi si pamoja nanyi. Mimi naona msiyo yaona. Mimi namwogopa Mwenyezi Mungu, na Mwenyezi Mungu ni mkali wa kuadhibu.
وَإِذْ وَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ
Na tulipo muahidi Musa masiku arubaini, kisha mkachukua ndama (mkamuabudu) baada yake, na mkawa wenye kudhulumu.
