Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is a self-teaching and self-learning aid of the Qur’an based on modern media platforms. It encompasses all essential aspects of Qur’anic knowledge which is obligated to every Muslim. Its usage also extends to the conventional Qur’an schools as an aid to more efficient and richer learning experience. reducing learning cycle, increasing teaching capacity, and enhancing pupils’ knowledge of the Qur’an from just being learning to recite and memorize the Qur’an to understanding the recitation (tajweed) rules, meanings of the Qur’an, and the language of the Qur’an.

Development plan

The website www.mualim-alquran.com is the first stage of the development of Mu’alim Al-Qur’an. This first stage is a web-based solution that is accessible online for free through any internet appliance like a PC/Laptop (Mac or Windows), tablets (Apple or Android) and mobile phones (iPhone or Android). In all the appliances, the screen of this web-based Mu’alim Al-Qur’an adjusts perfectly and automatically to suit the appliance’s resolution.

In the second stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a downloadable mobile application on both iPhone and Android platforms. This mobile app will be accessible offline and will enable users to access all the functionalities and content of the Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need to be online through WiFi or mobile data connectivity.

In the third stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a built-in app in a dedicated branded tablet with all its functionalities and content, thus enabling its accessibility without the need of internet connectivity. Furthermore, the tablet will be equipped with a solar charger which will allow users to access Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need of external electricity supply.

Target Audience

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is primarily intended for non-Arabic speaking Muslims who speak any of the following languages. Swahili, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The application is equally useful in self-teaching and self-learning of the Qur’an for any speakers of these languages.

Scope

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an includes the following six learning modules: (1) Foundation of Arabic alphabets, letters, and words based on standard Qaida Al-Noorania. (2) Recitation of the Qur’an word-by-word and verse-by-verse. (3) Rules of Tajweed in recitation. (4) Memorization of the Qur’an based on the standard memorization methodology of repetition and tracking progress. (5) The meaning of the Qur’an through translations. and (6) Arabic as the language of the Qur’an.

User’s Engagement

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an allows users to access the application for free through the browsers or mobile application in phones or tablets. The users have a choice to use the application anonymously without tracking their progress or by logging in with an email address and a password to keep track of their progress within a particular stage or between stages. Exceptive Sentences with ilia

Lesson 10 briefly mentioned the exceptive particle ilia, which appears over 600 times in the Qur'an, and its usage rules need to be understood.
The exception is placed in the accusative case when ilia follows a positive sentence.
شرِبُوا مِنْهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِنْهُمْ
 they drank from it—except a few of them.
سَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ
 They prostrated themselves, except Iblis
كُلُّ شَيءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ
Everything will perish except His face
Iilia is often used to introduce exceptions to negative sentences, particularly when the negative and exceptive combine to give the meaning 'only'.
The exception to negatives and negation in interrogative sentences is logically made, with non-Qur'anic examples demonstrating the exception's creator and not.
مَا ذَهَبَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا زَيْدٌ
 no one left, except Zayd
مَا سَمِعْتُ أَحَداً إِلَّا زَيْداً
I didn’t hear anyone, except Zayd
مَا مَرَرْتُ بِأحَدٍ إلَّا بِزَيْدٍ
 I didn’t pass by anyone, except Zayd
With ahad omitted the sentences run:
مَا ذَهَبَ إلَّا زَيْدٌ
 only Zayd left
ما سَمِعتُ إلَّا زَيْداً
 I heard only Zayd
مَا مَرَرْتُ إلَّا بِزَيْدٍ
 I passed only Zayd
The exception is only applicable in the accusative when it is distinct from the term it is intended for.
مَا شَرِبَ اَلْقَوْمُ إِلَّا حِمَارًا
 none of the people drank, but a donkey did
The exception can be a clause or a prepositional phrase, with or without the introduction of wa-, qad, or an.
The Qur'an frequently employs the archaic negative particle in 'not' in over 100 exceptive sentences, with ilia introducing the exception.
إِنْ هذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ
 this is simply manifest magic
إِنْ يُهلِكُونَ إلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ
 they destroy only themselves
إِنِ الحُكْمُ إلَّا لِلّهِ
 judgement belongs to God alone

Na ambao pindi wafanyapo uchafu au wakajidhulumu nafsi zao humkumbuka Mwenyezi Mungu na wakamwomba msamaha kwa dhambi zao - na nani anaye futa dhambi isipo kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu? - na wala hawaendelei na waliyo yafanya na hali wanajua.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يُخَـٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَـٰدِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُوا۟ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
Hakika wanaafiki wanamkhadaa Mwenyezi Mungu, na hali ni Yeye ndiye mwenye kuwakhadaa wao. Na wanapo inuka kusali huinuka kwa unyong'onyo, wanajionyesha kwa watu tu, wala hawamdhukuru Mwenyezi Mungu ila kidogo tu.
أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ ۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Je, hawafikiri? Huyu mwenzao hana wazimu. Hakuwa yeye ila ni mwonyaji aliye dhaahiri.
وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ
Na wengi wao hawafuati ila dhana tu. Na dhana haifai kitu mbele ya haki. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu anajua yote wanayo yatenda.
وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُۥ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ ءَامَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
Na akafunuliwa Nuhu akaambiwa: Hataamini yeyote katika watu wako ila wale walio kwisha amini. Basi usisikitike kwa waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.
وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٍ مَّعْدُودٍ
Na Sisi hatuiakhirishi ila kwa muda unao hisabiwa.
ٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّ ٱبْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَآ إِلَّا بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَـٰفِظِينَ
Rudini kwa baba yenu, na mwambieni: Ee baba yetu! Mwanao ameiba. Na sisi hatutoi ushahidi ila kwa tunayo yajua. Wala sisi hatukuwa wenye kuhifadhi mambo ya ghaibu.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِۦ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ۖ فَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Na hatukumtuma Mtume ila kwa ulimi wa kaumu yake ili apate kuwabainishia. Basi Mwenyezi Mungu humuacha akapotea amtakaye, na akamwongoa amtakaye. Naye ni Mtukufu Mwenye nguvu na Mwenye hikima.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
Na hatukuziumba mbingu na ardhi na vilivyomo ndani yake ila kwa ajili ya Haki. Na hakika Kiyama kitafika. Basi samehe msamaha mzuri.
قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Mitume wao wakawaambia: Sisi kweli si chochote ila ni wanaadamu kama nyinyi. Lakini Mwenyezi Mungu humfanyia hisani amtakaye katika waja wake. Wala sisi hatuwezi kuleta uthibitisho ila kwa idhini ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Na juu ya Mwenyezi Mungu ndio wategemee Waumini.
وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُۥ فَٱتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Na bila ya shaka Iblisi alihakikisha ile dhana yake juu yao. Nao walimfuata, isipo kuwa kundi la Waumini.
وَمَا يُؤْمِنُ أَكْثَرُهُم بِٱللَّهِ إِلَّا وَهُم مُّشْرِكُونَ
Na wengi katika wao hawamuamini Mwenyezi Mungu pasina kuwa ni washirikina.
فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ مَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُهُم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ وَإِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنقُوصٍ
Basi usiwe na shaka juu ya wanayo yaabudu hao. Hawaabudu ila kama walivyo abudu baba zao zamani. Na hakika Sisi tutawatimilizia fungu lao bila ya kupunguzwa.
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
Na hakuna chochote ila asili yake inatokana na Sisi; wala hatukiteremshi ila kwa kipimo maalumu.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Nasi hatukuwatuma kabla yako ila watu wanaume tulio wapa Wahyi (Ufunuo). Basi waulizeni wenye ukumbusho kama nyinyi hamjui
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَسْتَمِعُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِذْ يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِذْ هُمْ نَجْوَىٰٓ إِذْ يَقُولُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُورًا
Sisi tunajua vyema kabisa sababu wanayo sikilizia wanapo kusikiliza, na wanapo nong'ona. Wanapo sema hao madhaalimu: Nyinyi hamumfuati isipo kuwa mtu aliye rogwa.
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
(Nao watasema:) Wala hatuteremki ila kwa amri ya Mola wako Mlezi. Ni yake Yeye yaliyoko mbele yetu na yaliyoko nyuma yetu, na yaliyomo katikati ya hayo. Na Mola wako Mlezi si mwenye kusahau.
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
Au wewe unadhani kwamba wengi wao wanasikia au wanaelewa? Hao hawakuwa ila ni kama nyama hoa tu, bali wao wamepotea zaidi njia.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ
Na hakika tulimtuma Nuhu kwa watu wake, na akakaa nao miaka elfu kasoro miaka khamsini. Basi tufani liliwachukua, nao ni madhaalimu.
وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَ
Na hiyo ni mifano tunawapigia watu, na hawaifahamu ila wenye ilimu.
إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ ۚ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۚ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِى قَالُوٓا۟ ءَاذَنَّـٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ
UJUZI wa kuijua Saa ya Kiyama unarudishwa kwake tu Mwenyezi Mungu. Na matunda hayatoki katika mafumba yake, wala mwanamke hachukui mimba, wala hazai, ila kwa kujua kwake. Na siku atakayo waita, akawaambia: Wako wapi washirika wangu? Hapo watasema: Tunakiri kwako ya kwamba hapana miongoni mwetu anaye shuhudia hayo.
وَإِن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۚ كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَسْطُورًا
Na hapana mji wowote ila Sisi tutauteketeza kabla ya Siku ya Kiyama, au tutaupa adhabu kali. Haya yamekwisha andikwa katika Kitabu.
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ
Chakula hicho hawakili ila wakosefu.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًى ۚ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Na wanapo somewa Aya zetu zilizo wazi wanasema: Huyu si chochote ila ni mtu anaye taka kukuzuieni na waliyo kuwa wakiabudu baba zenu. Na wakasema: Haya si chochote ila ni uwongo ulio zuliwa. Na walio kufuru waliiambia Haki ilipo wajia: Haya si chochote ila ni uchawi ulio dhaahiri.
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
Na Muhammad hakuwa ila ni Mtume tu. Wamekwisha pita kabla yake Mitume. Je, akifa au akauwawa ndiyo mtageuka mrudi nyuma? Na atakaye geuka akarudi nyuma huyo hatamdhuru kitu Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Mwenyezi Mungu atawalipa wanao mshukuru.
وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚ كُلٌّ فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ
NA HAKUNA mnyama yoyote katika ardhi ila riziki yake iko kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Naye anajua makao yake na mapitio yake. Yote yamo katika Kitabu chenye kubainisha.
