Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is a self-teaching and self-learning aid of the Qur’an based on modern media platforms. It encompasses all essential aspects of Qur’anic knowledge which is obligated to every Muslim. Its usage also extends to the conventional Qur’an schools as an aid to more efficient and richer learning experience. reducing learning cycle, increasing teaching capacity, and enhancing pupils’ knowledge of the Qur’an from just being learning to recite and memorize the Qur’an to understanding the recitation (tajweed) rules, meanings of the Qur’an, and the language of the Qur’an.

Development plan

The website www.mualim-alquran.com is the first stage of the development of Mu’alim Al-Qur’an. This first stage is a web-based solution that is accessible online for free through any internet appliance like a PC/Laptop (Mac or Windows), tablets (Apple or Android) and mobile phones (iPhone or Android). In all the appliances, the screen of this web-based Mu’alim Al-Qur’an adjusts perfectly and automatically to suit the appliance’s resolution.

In the second stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a downloadable mobile application on both iPhone and Android platforms. This mobile app will be accessible offline and will enable users to access all the functionalities and content of the Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need to be online through WiFi or mobile data connectivity.

In the third stage Mu’alim Al-Qur’an will be developed to a built-in app in a dedicated branded tablet with all its functionalities and content, thus enabling its accessibility without the need of internet connectivity. Furthermore, the tablet will be equipped with a solar charger which will allow users to access Mu’alim Al-Qur’an without the need of external electricity supply.

Target Audience

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an is primarily intended for non-Arabic speaking Muslims who speak any of the following languages. Swahili, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The application is equally useful in self-teaching and self-learning of the Qur’an for any speakers of these languages.

Scope

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an includes the following six learning modules: (1) Foundation of Arabic alphabets, letters, and words based on standard Qaida Al-Noorania. (2) Recitation of the Qur’an word-by-word and verse-by-verse. (3) Rules of Tajweed in recitation. (4) Memorization of the Qur’an based on the standard memorization methodology of repetition and tracking progress. (5) The meaning of the Qur’an through translations. and (6) Arabic as the language of the Qur’an.

User’s Engagement

Mu’alim Al-Qur’an allows users to access the application for free through the browsers or mobile application in phones or tablets. The users have a choice to use the application anonymously without tracking their progress or by logging in with an email address and a password to keep track of their progress within a particular stage or between stages. Defective Verbs

There are three types of defective verbs:
  1. kataba with waw as their final radical, e.g. raja.
  2. kataba with ya as their final radical, e.g. rama.
  3. shariba with either waw or ya* as their final radical, e.g radiya, baqiya and nasiya.
Defective verbs like kana and qala are difficult to introduce gradually but are easier than hollow verbs. Perfect, Imperfect, and Subjunctive forms differ from sound verbs, but Jussive requires care.

Akenda naye (mwanawe) kwa jamaa zake amembeba. Wakasema: Ewe Maryamu! Hakika umeleta kitu cha ajabu!
أَفَأَمِنُوٓا۟ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَـٰشِيَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Je! Wanaaminisha kuwa haitowajia adhabu ya Mwenyezi Mungu ya kuwagubika, au haitawafikia Saa ya Kiyama kwa ghafla, na hali hawatambui?
سَلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۭ بَيِّنَةٍ ۗ وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
Waulize Wana wa Israili: Tumewapa ishara ngapi zilizo wazi? Na anaye zibadili neema za Mwenyezi Mungu baada ya kumfikia basi hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni mkali wa kuadhibu.
إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُمْ رَٰكِعُونَ
Hakika rafiki yenu mlinzi ni Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake na walio amini, ambao hushika Sala na hutoa Zaka nao wananyenyekea.
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ ءَازَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصْنَامًا ءَالِهَةً ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
Na pale Ibrahim alipo mwambia baba yake, Azar: Unayafanya masanamu kuwa ni miungu? Hakika mimi nakuona wewe na watu wako mmo katika opotofu ulio wazi.
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ
Je! Mnayaona maji mnayo yanywa?
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Hakika wale walio amini na wale walio hama na wakapigania Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu, hao ndio wanao taraji rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye kusamehe na Mwenye kurehemu.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
Akasema: Ee Mola wangu Mlezi! Hakika mimi nimewaita watu wangu usiku na mchana,
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
Na Muhammad hakuwa ila ni Mtume tu. Wamekwisha pita kabla yake Mitume. Je, akifa au akauwawa ndiyo mtageuka mrudi nyuma? Na atakaye geuka akarudi nyuma huyo hatamdhuru kitu Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Mwenyezi Mungu atawalipa wanao mshukuru.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا ۖ وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ۖ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ
Yeye ndiye aliye kuumbeni kwa udongo, kisha akakuhukumieni ajali, na muda maalumu uko kwake tu. Tena baada ya haya nyinyi mnatia shaka.
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا
Na waja wa Arrahman Mwingi wa Rehema ni wale wanao tembea ulimwenguni kwa staha, na wajinga wakiwasemeza hujibu: Salama!
وَقَالُوا۟ مَالِ هَـٰذَا ٱلرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِى فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُۥ نَذِيرًا
Na wakasema: Ana nini Mtume huyu? Anakula chakula, na anatembea masokoni! Mbona hakuteremshiwa Malaika akawa mwonyaji pamoja naye?
ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
Ambao waliifanya dini yao kuwa ni pumbao na mchezo, na maisha ya dunia yakawadanganya. Basi leo Sisi tunawasahau kama walivyo usahau mkutano wa Siku yao hii, na kwa sababu ya kule kuzikataa Ishara zetu.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥ وَلَا يَخْشَوْنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا
(Hao wa zamani) walio kuwa wakifikisha risala za Mwenyezi Mungu na wanamwogopa Yeye, na wala hawamwogopi yeyote isipo kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ndiye atoshaye kuhisabu.
وَجَـٰهِدُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ ۚ هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ ۚ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَـٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ ۚ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ
Na fanyeni juhudi kwa ajili ya Mwenyezi Mungu kama inavyo stahiki jihadi yake. Yeye amekuteueni. Wala hakuweka juu yenu mambo mazito katika Dini. Nayo ni mila ya baba yenu Ibrahim. Yeye (Mwenyezi Mungu) alikuiteni Waislamu tangu zamani, na katika hii (Qur'ani) pia, ili awe Mtume shahidi juu yenu, na nyinyi muwe mashahidi kwa watu. Basi shikeni Sala na toeni Zaka na shikamaneni na Mwenyezi Mungu. Yeye ndiye Mlinzi wenu, Mlinzi bora kabisa, na Msaidizi bora kabisa.
فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
Alipo kuwa kasimama chumbani akisali, Malaika kamnadia: Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu anakubashiria Yahya, ataye kuwa mwenye kusadikisha neno litokalo kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, na ni bwana na mt'awa na Nabii kwa watu wema.
وَمِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ ۖ وَٱجْتَبَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Na kutokana na baba zao, na vizazi vyao na ndugu zao. Na tukawateuwa na tukawaongoa kwenye Njia iliyo nyooka.
أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْخَالِصُ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِى مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ كَـٰذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ
Hakika Dini Safi ni ya Mwenyezi Mungu tu. Na wale wanao wafanya wenginewe kuwa ni walinzi wakisema: Sisi hatuwaabudu ila wapate kutujongeza tu kumkaribia Mwenyezi Mungu - Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu atahukumu baina yao katika wanayo khitalifiana. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu hamwongoi aliye mwongo kafiri.
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
Basi akaitupa fimbo yake, na mara ikawa nyoka dhaahiri.
سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَـٰنًا ۖ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Tutazitia khofu nyoyo za walio kufuru kwa vile walivyo mshirikisha Mwenyezi Mungu na washirika ambao hakuwateremshia hoja yoyote. Na makaazi yao ni Motoni; na maovu yaliyoje maskani ya wenye kudhulumu!
وَأَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُونَ
Na tukawaokoa wale walio amini na walio kuwa wanamchamngu.
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Sivyo hivyo, bali anaye timiza ahadi yake na akamchamngu basi Mwenyezi Mungu huwapenda wachamngu.
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ
Je! Umemwona yule aliye geuka?
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَـٰفِرِينَ
Basi akawaachilia mbali na akasema: Enyi kaumu yangu! Nimekufikishieni Ujumbe wa Mola Mlezi wangu, na nimekunasihini; basi vipi niwahuzunikie watu makafiri?
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Huwaoni wale walio pewa sehemu ya Kitabu? Wanaitwa kukiendea Kitabu cha Mwenyezi Mungu ili kiwahukumu baina yao; kisha baadhi yao wanageuka wanakikataa.
